It is Grisoft's AVG, and it has caught and put in its quarantine area or the vault virus', trojans and worms that even Norton failed to catch. The only thing I can advise the author is to include more keywords in the title (like IE opens and carashed, instead of just IE opens and closes, etc. I didn't have it up in front of me at the time. I tried Microsoft fixes.. Uninstalling: 1) Open the Programs and Features applet from the control panel (Add/Remove programs in XP) 2) Click the "Turn Windows Features on or off" link on the left 3) Untick It is possible for a virus to have the same name as IEXPLORE.exe, or IEXPLORER.exe (IEXPLORER.exe, with an extra "R" is definately a virus). This includes asking for us to link to your subreddit, forum, bulletin board, newsgroup, Facebook page, whatever.
all it does basically is (re)register some DLLs who are required by Internet Explorer.
